Born in Duluth, Minnesota, in 1978, Erik Sommer is an artist and curator living in New York City. His works, which include paintings, sculptures and concrete installations, are influenced by abandoned buildings, eroded rocks and eerie silences. In his work he tries to capture and freeze the effects of time. Sommer has exhibited his work in New York, London and Berlin, as well as participated in numerous group exhibitions around the world.
