Through carnivalesque exaggeration and extravagance, this work evokes the female reproductive system as a symbol of resistance against dominant notions of power and control over women’s bodies. Using woollen yarn as the main material, the artist recalls the cultural association with traditionally female domestic crafts, symbolically transforming the concept of marginalisation into an act of re-appropriation.
