Land of nothing

The work is inspired by memories of his homeland, Siberia. Used for centuries by Russia for the extraction of natural resources and as a place of exile, Siberia saw the formation of industrial landscapes that were abandoned after Perestrojka. A black rubish bag symbolizes “desolation” and “abandonment” for the artist, but in her work, through the intervention of design, she transforms a common and disturbing object into something pleasant and beautiful.
