Look Through

“Look Through” explores the concept of identity and its impact on perception. The artwork features various symbols that represent curated experiences and memories. As more layers are added, the original structure of the glasses becomes obscured, symbolizing how our carefully selected identities can obstruct and condition our vision. This delicate structure highlights the paradox of identity: the more we try to define and refine it, the more it can limit our ability to see clearly. Through this piece, Särkkö invites viewers to reflect on the complexity and fluidity of identity and how it shapes our understanding of the world.
