Monica Tuss de Orbegoso Peru

Monica Tuss de Orbegoso, born in Lima, has had a passion for artistic subjects and natural environments since her childhood. After studying forestry, she spent years working in this field and focusing on reforestation and sustainability. In 2012, she undertook fine arts studies in Florence, Italy, focusing on painting, drawing and printmaking. Her use of maps, vectors, polygons, layers and natural organic shapes enhance the contrast between rigid and organic matter, where geometry represents human perception and the tendency to homogenise reality. She explores her work with various materials such as mirror and wood engraving but mainly painting on canvas with acrylics, oil and metal foils.
