Walter Bernardi, mosaicist and painter from Mel (BL), studied mosaic art in Venice in the 1970s. Originally a landscape painter linked to the Venetian tradition, he has evolved his art towards abstract research, where colours move independently in space, creating dynamics of light and shadow. His abstract work is influenced by an ‘imaginative chaos’. This leads to unpremeditated results that often become starting points for new creative paths.
